The Detail
Harbour Sisal is a natural sisal wallcovering from our Natural Library, in the Blue colour book (100% sisal). Tightly woven from sisal fibre, it has a calm, even texture with far less shade variation than a grasscloth. Order a sample to see it in your own light. As with all natural wallcoverings, shade and texture vary gently from roll to roll. That's part of the material's character.
About sisal
Sisal is spun from the leaves of the agave plant and woven into a fine, tight, even grain. It's one of the most consistent naturals — calm enough to carry across a large wall or a whole room, with just enough texture to catch the light.
A note on natural materials
Natural wallcoverings intentionally contain variations in colour, texture, weave and shading. These characteristics are part of the material and are not defects. We recommend ordering sufficient material from the same dye lot in a single order, and hanging every length the same way up (non-reverse hang) so the weave runs consistently across the wall.
Please note: sales of natural wallcoverings are final and non-refundable.

- Installation notes
- Double cut required. Professional installation recommended.
- Natural wallcoverings aren't stain-repellent treated, so treat the surface gently.
- Blot any spill straight away with a clean, dry, white cloth. Dab lightly, never rub.
- Dust occasionally with a vacuum on a soft brush attachment.
- Don't use water, sprays or detergents on the surface.
- Trying something new? Test it on a hidden spot first, and if it isn't working, stop and contact us.
- 01Prepare the walls first — clean, dry, smooth, and primed. Natural wallcoverings telegraph any imperfection beneath them.
- 02Paste the wall, then wet the back of the paper before hanging. If preferred, paste the back of the paper instead.
- 03Double cut required: overlap adjoining drops slightly, cut through both layers with a sharp blade against a straight edge, then remove the offcuts for a clean, tight seam.
- 04Work from a single batch and check each roll against the last before hanging.
- 05Keep adhesive off the face. If any gets on the surface, gently dab with a damp microfibre cloth — never rub.
- 06Professional installation is strongly recommended.
