Terms & Conditions
Every accepted quote is subject to these terms. Please read them carefully.
Last updated 19 July 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to all quotes, supply and installation work provided by Peninsula Wallpaper (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accepting a quote — in writing, by payment of a deposit, or by allowing works to proceed — you (“the client”) agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully; every accepted quote is subject to them.
01Quotations & acceptance
Quotes are valid for [30] days from the date issued, unless stated otherwise, and are based on the plans, measurements, images and information provided to us at the time.
This quote is based on the plans provided. A final site measure may result in adjustments to the scope and pricing if any discrepancies are identified.
Acceptance of a quote confirms your agreement to the scope, pricing and payment terms in that quote and to these Terms & Conditions. Prices are in Australian dollars; GST is included or added as shown on your quote.
02Payment
Payment terms are set out in your quote or invoice and may vary from project to project. A deposit may be required upfront to secure your booking, and material costs may be payable in advance before materials are ordered.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the balance is payable on completion of the installation. Card payments processed through Xero may incur a surcharge that reflects the processing fees charged by our payment provider.
Title in all materials supplied by us remains with Peninsula Wallpaper until payment has been received in full. Risk in materials passes to you on delivery to site.
03Late payment & recovery costs
Accounts not paid by the due date may accrue interest at [1.5]% per month (or part month) on the outstanding balance until paid in full.
Any costs we incur in recovering an overdue account — including debt-collection agency fees, legal costs and disbursements — will be added to the amount owing and are payable by you. We may suspend works and withhold any workmanship guarantee while an account remains overdue.
04Deposits, bookings & cancellations
Any deposit paid secures your installation booking and, where applicable, the ordering of materials. Deposits are non-refundable to the extent they cover materials already ordered or work already carried out.
Materials ordered specifically for your project (including custom-printed and cut-to-order wall-coverings) cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded once ordered. If you postpone or reschedule, additional charges may apply.
05Wall preparation
Walls must be finish-painted smooth, clean, dry, and free from contaminants prior to installation. Newly plastered or rendered surfaces must be fully cured and appropriately sealed.
Any preparation required on site — for example sanding, sealing, priming, or filling gaps — is not included unless stated in your quote and will incur additional charges.
06Access & site conditions
Adequate site access, lighting, power, and a clean, clear working area must be provided. A safe working environment must be maintained at all times.
Delays caused by other trades, restricted access, or site conditions that are not as represented may result in additional charges.
07Natural wall-coverings & layout approval
When installing natural wall-coverings, the client should be on site to discuss and approve the layout before installation begins. Natural materials are affected by panel sequence, seam placement and shading, and these decisions are best made together.
If the client is not available on site, the installer will proceed using their reasonable judgement, and the client accepts the resulting layout.
08Inherent characteristics of natural & textured materials
Natural and textured wall-coverings (such as grasscloth, silk and linen) have inherent characteristics that are a feature of the material and not a defect, including:
- Shading, panelling and colour variation between drops and lots
- Visible seams and joins
- Irregular texture, knots, slubs and organic variation
These characteristics are expected and are not grounds for a defect claim.
09Lighting
Lighting has a significant effect on how a finished wall appears. Natural light, artificial light, and particularly raking or wall-wash lighting across a surface can accentuate seams, texture, and minor imperfections in the wall or wall-covering.
The way a wall reads under specific lighting conditions is not a defect or a workmanship fault.
10Dark & dark-coloured wallpapers
Dark and deeply-coloured wall-coverings show more than lighter ones. Dust, handling marks, scuffs, seam and overlap lines, and any imperfections in the underlying wall can be more visible, especially under directional light.
Dark papers require careful handling and some seam or sheen visibility is normal. This is a characteristic of dark materials and is not a defect.
11Existing walls & substrate
Older walls may be prone to wear more quickly, and pre-existing problems in the substrate — such as movement, cracking, moisture, previous coatings, or poor adhesion — may cause issues including bubbling, lifting, or seams opening over time.
We can advise on wall condition but we do not warrant the substrate. Issues arising from the condition or movement of existing walls are not attributable to our workmanship and are not covered by our guarantee.
12Handling of client-supplied materials
While all care is taken, when we are not provided with the manufacturer’s care guide and installation instructions, Peninsula Wallpaper is not liable for defects or inconsistencies in client-supplied wallpaper. This includes dye or lot variations, edge curling, or damage from manufacturing or transport.
The client is responsible for ordering sufficient material, including reasonable overage for pattern repeats and wastage. If supplied material is short, damaged, or defective, additional materials, time and charges may be required to complete the work.
13Peel-and-stick & self-adhesive materials
Additional charges apply where wallpaper is “peel-and-stick” or self-adhesive rather than traditional glue-based wallpaper.
Self-adhesive materials generally have a shorter lifespan and may lift, curl or fail at seams over time. They are not warranted to the same standard as traditional wall-coverings.
14Workmanship guarantee
Provided the wall-covering comes with a manufacturer’s warranty, our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the installation (completion) date, provided proper care and maintenance guidelines are followed.
This guarantee covers installation workmanship only. Issues due to environmental conditions, wall movement, or product failure are not covered.
15Warranty exclusions
Our workmanship warranty (12 months from completion) excludes issues caused by:
- Substrate or wall movement, cracking or structural issues
- Moisture, humidity, temperature, sunlight/UV fading or other environmental conditions
- Improper or incomplete wall preparation, including preparation carried out by others or recommended preparation that was declined
- Product or manufacturing failure of the wall-covering
- Post-installation damage, misuse, or improper cleaning
- Peel-and-stick / self-adhesive materials, and client-supplied materials
16Product (manufacturer) warranties
Wall-coverings are covered by the warranty (if any) offered by their manufacturer. Faults in the product itself are the responsibility of the manufacturer. We will reasonably assist you in making a manufacturer warranty claim.
17Care & maintenance
To maintain your installation and keep any applicable warranty valid, follow the manufacturer’s care and maintenance guidelines. Avoid excess moisture and abrasive or solvent cleaners, and take extra care with natural and dark materials.
18Colour, batch & sample variation
Colours shown on screens, printed samples and physical swatches are indicative only and may differ from the final product. Where possible we install from the same batch or lot, but slight variation between batches, samples and screen representations is normal and is not a defect.
19Variations & additional charges
Any change to the scope, quantities, materials or site conditions after acceptance is a variation and will be charged accordingly. Where practical, variations will be confirmed in writing before the additional work proceeds.
20Protection of property & belongings
While reasonable care is taken to protect your furnishings and finishes, the client should remove valuables, breakables and other belongings and clear the work area before installation. We are not liable for pre-existing damage or for items not removed from the work area.
21Delays & events beyond our control
We are not liable for delays or non-performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including supply delays, product availability, weather, access issues, or delays caused by other trades.
22Liability & Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under that law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject to those non-excludable rights, our liability for any claim is limited (at our option) to re-supplying or re-performing the relevant work, or paying the cost of doing so. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
23Photography & marketing
We may photograph completed work for our portfolio, website and marketing. If you would prefer we did not, please tell us in writing before installation.
24Privacy
We collect personal information only to quote, communicate and carry out your project, and we do not sell it. Contact us if you would like to access or correct the information we hold.
25Governing law & changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. We may update these Terms from time to time; the version in effect at the time your quote is accepted applies to that project.
